This Pizzeria-tavern known in all south Umbria, is near to the main entrance gate of Amelia's old town Porta Romana. Its rooms are part of the ancient roman thermal spring of Amelia. Since 1500 the rooms are used as a restaurant and the name Porcelli is historical and can be deduced either from sties wich where in this street or from the latin word "porcellum" the entrances to thermal springs.

In three barrel vaulted high spaces you can enjoy delectable pizze.
We suggest to order first a mixed starter a "antipasto misto" and if you are more than three persons try to take an "assaggio di pizze". There will come one delicious pizza after the ohter depending on your personal desire and taste, wich you choose
until you and, if you like with a sweet pizza.
Valda, the owner is an active and adorable host who takes care of you enjoys the personal contact with her guests.

The dishes are good, prices are a little high, but its worthwhile. If you are not too sure about the price of a not written dish it is better to ask the waiter.

In this tiny and old municipality you will find the restaurant on the only piazza on the back of the church. In this wonderful vital Borgo, where the dishes are prepared in the old way, in summer life and restaurant run until late in the evening on the piazza. You sit next to people of Portaria playing cards with friends and family in front of their doors. Worth seeing is the big grill-stove used to prepare meat but also on the hot stoned surface the "pizza", the bread served with the dishes.
The food is simple and very good and who likes nativeness will enjoy it very much.
